Here at Hobo & Hatch, it’s no secret that we take a lot of our inspiration from the free-spirited traveller and the eternal wanderer. And as we all know, 2020 has most certainly not been a year to take off on adventurous travels.
That being said, our imagination and wanderlust dreams are still very much alive and we’ve been putting this into all of our new collections. That’s why now seems like a perfect time to introduce you to FIKA, a Swedish word which is defined as ‘a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life.’ We’ve been holding onto this sentiment strongly this year and we’re so proud of the collection that has been born out of this positive attitude.
This new collection is a range of jewellery, created for every woman. Designed to layer so no matter what your style and influence, you can create the look to suit you. The collection draws inspiration from a multitude of eras, revolutions and walks of life - taking vintage nostalgia and creating sophisticated simplicity.
Each piece has been hand constructed by our team of artisans in Nepal, Indonesia and Mexico using the finest sterling silver and solid gold plating. Though we haven’t been able to visit our wonderful artisans in person this year and we have all faced struggles with COVID-19 restrictions, our local connections remain strong and we have been able to continue to nurture sustainable employment for our artisans.
What’s more, we have still been working closely with In Giving We Receive (IGWR) in Nepal to help empower communities and provide education to children. Their amazing work has continued despite the many challenges they have faced this year.
And so, though things may feel uncertain right now, we want to encourage our Hobo & Hatch tribe to take a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life - FIKA
